What To Wear When: You’re Excited About Autumn

Lately, I’ve been in chunky sweaters and loafers with bare legs pretty much every day. It’s been wild dressing between seasons. In the morning I am freezing. In the afternoon, I am complaining about near-heat stroke! In the spirit of dressing, and getting dressed up for nights at the opera with my dear friend, here’s a quick autumn look of my own.

Despite wearing a mini skirt, this particular look held a surprising joy. It felt leisurely, with a distinct ability to be able to transfer to that aforementioned night out with boots, my hair wild and free, a fancy mask, and gold eyeshadow. What I loved most about this look though, was being reacquainted with this skirt! Further than that, it was the wonder in the combination of these stoop sale loafers and my grandmother’s scarf.

The play with autumn style abounds. What are you most excited about wearing this fall?

Here’s what I’m wearing: a mini skirt, vintage Gucci loafers (similar here), Ace & Jig Shell top, and a vintage scarf.

I’m always excited to be able to wear sweaters again — I have a couple that I knitted for myself, so they get the most wear. Also love still being able to go without socks — as you are doing here — and maybe if the temperatures are just right, wearing sandals with jeans. I also love mixing my linen pants that were on regular rotation all summer with woolen sweaters.

Hi Judith, Thank you for sharing! I feel like we have similar fall ease styles. Except I haven’t knit a sweater of my own. But what a beautiful activity!
I wore jeans and sandals on Saturday and was thinking, wow what a weird sweet spot of time.
