Last time I did a style post it was the dead of winter. I was juggling a scarf as a layer of warmth, and normalized HEATTECH under my favorite turtleneck. Since then, I wore my winter boots down to the bone, and cleaned out my sweater closet. While the first picture is of no indication, I also started to drink iced coffee instead of hot coffee. And that says enough about that!
I am still stealing hours and days with my scarves though. The skirts I slip in are quite wrinkled, and I am reigniting old relationships with lighter shirts and blazers as jackets. There’s orange too. I am possibly too drawn to orange as a color-staple this spring. It is just beginning and I can’t run away.

What shall I wear today? Well, what’s orange you say?
Aren’t you glad it’s spring?
Wasn’t that winter long?
What are we wearing?
Where are we going?
Oh, I just want to sit on the stoop and chat loudly until the street lights come on.

I love how you write. What a lovely poem <3
Oh, thank you Georgia!
“And that says enough about that!” Ha! You said it perfectly: the switch from hot to iced. I really relate to that. Also, for the years I’ve been reading your blog I have always thought of orange as a theme. Orange has a real home here.
Awww yay, I think it’s because it’s the same in my life/at home. But I feel like this spring, I am kind of not holding back AT ALL!
And yes, I’m happy I’m not the only one who considers the switch from hot to ice as the true marker of change. haha
Lovely post, LaTonya– orange is gorgeous on you : ) I can’t help but reply to your questions in my excitement today– I’m so glad the winter is ending, and for me the “going” answer is Brooklyn! I purchased a flight and reserved the moving truck literally this morning. I’ve been targeting Bed-Stuy and Bushwick in my search so far. Can’t wait to be on those iconic streets!
