What To Wear When: You Want To Getaway Anywhere

So we’re not getting away. But we sure would like to. More than that, I’d like to dress like it. For years, I’ve called my make-up routine a “just off the beach” look. And now, I’d like my outfits to resemble much of the same. Equally, I’d like for them to showcase how I’m not just making due, I’m enjoying what I have.

Madewell asked me and a few other creatives to style a few of their summer pieces and share what we’re doing to get away while being wherever we are. I styled and planned a few of my favorite summer in the city things, and wanted the photography to evoke the warmth that NYC summers gives. I loved the way the film and digital photos by local photographer, Makeda, turned out. I’ve always adored her work and am happy we could collaborate during this time. .

More photos and ways I am getting away (locally) below:

For popsicle days (basically, everyday) shorts and vintage inspired crochet tops.

For laying in the park with a good book and my camera (minus the kids), a white linen dress and espadrilles.

And red floral mid dress for bike rides around Brooklyn doing absolutely nothing and everything, at once.

What will you be wearing to get away wherever you are?

Wow YES that red midi dress is so fun! I have a hot red city bike that would match it perfectly for biking around my own city!

All three outfits are fire though. My favorite mask right now is purple gingham and those checked shorts are inspiring me to do a head-to-toe look.

I love the white at the picnic. It can also take in the beach.
