The other day I picked up these gold and green vintage leather pants that sort of have this pink glow to them. I imagined them with a chunky sweater and heels short enough the wide-leg would still graze the cement when I walk. But something about wearing these odd pants made me want to push my style a bit further. When cleaning my closet a few weeks back, I tried on this blazer I’ve only worn twice. And while totally inpractical for my day to day life, it works for the gray space that is the busy, and yet still slow, holiday season.
This slowness is mostly compromised of parties that you arrive late to and stay even later at. It is a time of slowness that I often attribute to the train shuffle with heels or in a taxi after one too many glasses of presco later. The kind of slowness that exists woven into a conversation over candlight with garland and The Pogues playing kind of slow. You know?

For a month or so, I’m giving all of those things a go, and will really evaluate (and try to plan) if and when I need them past this odd magic whent the smoke settles. Until then, here’s my holiday outfit. Of course, there’s a tweak here and there while the weather shifts between 50 something and snowing within days.

Maybe you don’t own a pair of funky green/gold leather pants (with a pink hue. ha!), that’s fine. Whether it’s a beloved skirt, a comfy knit, or simply, a favorite pair of “holiday jeans” I’d love to know what you’re wearing this holiday season?!
I’ve also been secretly obsessed with wearing overalls with an oversized blouse this season!
Other vintage leather pants here and here. A red bandana right this way.

Sitting here in a striped vest, heart-printed blouse, high-waisted jeans and tennis shoes feeling thankful for your blog and your style. Something in me resonates with your approach to dressing and that inspires me to have more fun with my own. Thank you, from all the way over in Austin.
Aren’t your toes cold?
Wonderful look.
Nope! This was shot on one of those 50 degree days i mentioned.

I love this outfit! Those pants look perfect for the holidays. I live in black, so I’ll definitely be wearing black for all parties and events. Maybe, I’ll try adding a little color this time around. Great post!
