We’ve been back from Miami for a bit now, but I keep finding myself looking back at this video from our trip. It was short but so special. In addition to bringing my digital camera, I also brought a film camera I borrowed from a friend. I love the texture behind the film, and the anticipation around seeing it. No instant gratification.
Here is a home video (!) if you’d like to see…

Do you have any upcoming vacations planned with your family? And if so, ow do you plan on documenting it?
I’m trying to get better about just making sure I capture things, and follow through with creating little videos.
Oh my goodness! I love that video! I have never thought of doing that on trips with my kids, but it’s such a good idea, even for day trips, which is most of what I am able to do now.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching it, Katie!

I’m going on a family trip to Cali in San Diego. It’ll be our first time to California. I plan to document the trip on my phone and making a photo album for my daughter.
Hi Emily,
Even day trip recording can be such a treat. Just little bits here and there. Movement, interactions-small things in larger days are my favorite. Good luck!
Tara, that sounds so sweet!! Yes! Would love to hear how the trip goes!!
