Friday’s Inspiration

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind. I had some serious jet lag after my quick trip to Europe. Or was it just exhaustion? I’m still not sure. Then I had to sign over 1,000 endpapers that will be sent off to the printer and bound in Woman Of Color. I’m so excited, but also couldn’t stop thinking that I don’t even have my signature perfected yet! T

I’ve been thinking about so much when it comes to life and work. Mostly, how some things require more energy than we actually know. So on Instagram, I talked about not responding to direct messages that are about blog specific posts. I truly hope you always feel welcomed to leave a comment or question on here! I also talked about easy dinners and taking it easy on myself in general. As of right now, the kids are on a late after school play date with their sitter (it includes Pizza!). And third, I talked about how writing, getting down and dirty with parenting, organizing, creating, and styling often comes in one big huge wave. It’s kind of how I’m wired as a person.

All in all, I’m ready for a weekend to just recalibrate and get some sun. I hope you have a great one! Here’s what inspired me this week…#fatatfashionweek

    Hi Latonya,

Responding to your invitation to comment with a moment of gratitude for your blog, which always brightens my day. I think we are around the same age (I’m 28). I work as an administrator at a public charter school in New Orleans. I always think if we met in person we would bond over jumping into roles that require lots of responsibility, but working on balancing that responsibility with joy, love, and creativity.

Thanks for the space you hold here. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

    Warmly,
    Rachel

Thank you so much Rachel for the loving and warm comment. I love New Orleans, and by your description, we would 100% bond over that. Its all hard work, but finding the creativity and joy in it and generously extending that to others is so very important.

Thank you so much for reading and following along, and the sweet note. Wishing you well as you navigate your late 20s and your job.

    Have a wonderful weekend,!
