A Weekend in North Adams, Massachusetts

Last weekend, after a few crazy work days and a big meeting for my book, I escaped the city. I had one of those weeks when I found myself exhausted more days than not, and had zero energy once the clock hit 7:30 PM. Ripping and running and parenting can take a toll, and normally I can handle. When I hit walls like that,  I do my best to pull away, Over the years, I have felt the huge shift a day or weekend alone can have on my wellbeing. If I had to give one tip, it is always carve out time for yourself. It seems like such a big deal, but it isn’t. It takes a bit of orchestrating to pull-off, but the rewards last longer than the work.

I stayed in the Canopy room at Tourists Welcome. The snow had just landed in Massachusetts when I got there, so it turned out to be the coziest weekend of hiking, snow, and sleeping in. Here are a few photos…

Silvercar by Audi was kind enough to lend me a rental for the weekend. The car was gorgeous, and I felt like a kid with my face stuck to the window looking at the mountains on the drive.   Do you have a favorite place you like to escape to on the weekends?

More travel stuff right here. P.S The Nordic boots I am wearing here are 50% off with the code CYBER.

This looks like a nice place of peace. Did you go alone? Was the a bit scary for you?
