We have now lived in our apartment for a little over a year. A year of mostly tidying corners and organizing little dressers. A year of pinning dream spaces, and sitting in the way ours is just so, and will be for a while. A year of friends and family swinging through our heavy front door. A year of cuddles, gatherings, conversations and a well meaning woman attempting to read a well-written book. Very quickly, this apartment became our home.
When we first moved in, I asked, “What’s the first thing you buy for a new home?” and while I had been going back and forth on curtains or a linen table cloth, I decided on a shower curtain. We had a fairly new one when we moved in, but our new tub is large, the bathroom old and simple. The pole in which the shower curtain hangs, wraps around like one from my inner 70 year old New Yorker woman dreams. The good stuff, I tell you.
Instead of getting a canvas shower curtain, I opted for the Sun Shower curtain from Quiet Town Home, that has shown itself via my Instagram photos. It’s one of those home purchases that I look at and still smile about each time. It completely transformed the room. So much so, I purchased a black one and gifted it to a friend. They’re bright and super easy to clean. Just a quick spray and rinse. A bonus: it’s non chlorinated and made right here, in Brooklyn, NY.
If you’re not interested in the Sun Shower curtain, their canvas option is beautiful as well. We use these brass hooks to hang ours, but I think a standard option may still work.
If you buy it, I hope you like it!
P.S Quiet Town is donating a portion of it’s sale to the ACLU in response to the administration’s inhumane immigration policy.
Makes me wish I needed a shower curtain… Have glass doors for our shower.
thanks so much for sharing! it looks great in your bathroom! -Quiet Town
