4 Weeks Of Community Activism: Food Service

This week’s holiday activism action is easy. But I think the reality check of all of these sort of activations remains just that- easy. And we often steer away from things that require a moment, especially when our hearts and minds are focused on the act of giving to our family. This weekend, sign up to serve food to your local soup kitchen or donate time at your local food bank.

Alternatively, make a warm meal and bring it to a neighbor in need. In Brooklyn alone, the income disparity is so great. As neighborhoods continue to rapidly gentrify, the cities poorest and richest often live within a few blocks. While a meal or food won’t soothe every issue, it’s an easy way to remain active and aware within your own community.
