Black ABC Prints From The 70S

Have you seen these Black ABC Flashcards that have been floating around on Pinterest? They were originally published in the1970s by the Society for Visual Education in Chicago. I wish I had found them sooner, but really enjoyed reading about them and seeing the entire alphabet. The meaning of each letter is so powerful. I am sure my mother had a stack floating around her childhood bedroom.

These would make great prints to add color and history to a nursery or bedroom. Here they are as laminated flash cards  I would love to find originals on Ebay. If you buy the poster, you can get them framed with Framebridge, a company we love to use when framing images.

The back of the original cards say this:

The pictures are of people and situations particularly relevant to many city children and thus can make the reading readiness program in city schools more meaningful.”
