The Trench Coat

On occasion, I up and realize something I’ve always known deep within me; I am supremely thrifty. And it isn’t because I simply enjoy thrifting and believe in the environmental aspects of it, I think more of my realization comes with the fact that I generally never find myself pulling the trigger on purchases these days.

Case in point: The trench coat. For years I eyed a trench coat, shouted about the peak range ladies reach while wearing one, and yet, I never purchased my own. Maybe more than thrifty, I am indecisive. I shop for one – love three– and then hold on to a fabric of hope that there may be something slightly better in the near future.

When I did a shoot for Mother a few weeks back, I went ahead and ordered this one for the shoot. It was a forced butt-kick to finally get one. Needless to say, I’ve been wearing it consistently this spring, without waiver. No, it isn’t perfect by any means, but it does the job for now.

I paired the look up with a pair of trousers I got from a friend, my favorite ankle boots and a cross-body bag. The hat is vintage from my grandmother’s closet.

Other trench coats: Madewell,  A. P. C, Asos.

I have the same issue when it comes to actually purchasing the piece. You look amazing though. ❤️

Oh I love this so much. I do this, too. I want/ need something so badly that I just look and look and look and never end up getting the thing. I've been searching for the perfect cross-body bag for about 6 years. God knows I've come across a perfectly fine one since my search began but I can't seem to do it.
