I currently do not stock the power or the dream to chop it all off because it simply feels right. Occasionally, on a stalled train home, I’ll look at the girl with the purple tips and fantasize about it on my head. That and storm-silver are constantly neck and neck in my thoughts. I won’t. But it’s fun day-dreaming. When I trust in the reality, one that says that I am far too indecisive to sit and charge hundreds on a color that maybe won’t last a month; I go for subtle changes.
This fall, it’s a chopped fro and lighter locks. Occasionally, it’s two twists going back for a week, or cornrows for a weekend, all in which someone will surely exclaim; “You’ve lost weight!” Simply because my hair is no longer rounding me out. Truth be told, the shock of doing something worth a comment isn’t lost on me. I like a good, “You’ve done something different.” every now and again. I find that subtle changes (in almost anything) shakes things up, allowing for a refreshed picture of yourself–even only for a week or so.
And so, are you doing anything different with your hair this season? I’ve had two friends go lighter, and another just cut her natural hair off. All of them look stunning and seem super happy with the change.

After baby I would love to go lighter. Your current hair color is similar to the color I had a few years ago and after looking at old pictures of myself I'm tempted to go back. For now I'm enjoying the extra thickness and bounce 🙂
Hi Latonya. I love your hair and have watched it grow and transition from those early TWA days.I embarked on a natural hair journey in may of 2013. My goal was to see how long it would grow in its natural form (to prove than black hair can really grow long contrary to popular belief especially here in Africa)It is close to 3 1/2 years. The hair is now 16+ inches and as much as I enjoy the length, I miss the days when it was shorter and I could wear a carefree afro. Whenever I voice this out people are like: 'how can you wish your hair to be shorter?' I must be honest. I also day dream of cutting it and adding color almost everyday but I am afraid I wont like the outcome. Sorry for the rant. Your hair color is awesome!
Love ! I'm indecisive also maybe that's why I have never dyed my hair. Lol but have cosplay wigs galore lol 😂
I love a good change after baby, it truly is an exciting and much-needed refresher. Good luck on the birth and life with two! It's going to be amazing.
xo
Hey Sophie!
I think the struggle in the grow back process is super difficult, but if you feel the urge to cut again, just do it. Length isn't that important, and it's whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Do you mind sharing what color you useI love your color but I'm so afraid of damaging my hair
