I don’t think it comes as a surprise that I love bright lips. More specifically, orange lips. There’s something about a bright lip that totally lifts my mood. When I’m tired, I throw it on. When I’m stressed, I throw it on. It seems as if the sleeplessness and stress will magically disappear once I put it on. It’s like the saying; “Leave your drama at the door.” Once my color is on, well- there goes all of my woes and worries. You can’t carry baggage when you’re frolicking around the city with orange lips. Stress, just won’t match the smile, and I’m okay with that.
Granted, wearing orange lips can seem intimidating. Down right terrifying if you ask most. Like many things, I don’t think you need to have a certain style, or be a certain kind of person to adapt to this. There are so many different shades, tones, and finishes to orange lipstick. These are just a few ways I like to wear my orange lips-bright and bold. I encourage you to try various shades, and don’t let fear and intimidation steer you away from at least going it a go.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll show you how to style and rock your orange lips, with three different looks. The first being, this neutral look. I’m so happy to have collaborated with Katherine Rose, an amazingly talented photographer and friend, for this project. (She also took our maternity photos!)
The great thing about styling a bright orange lip around a neutral look, is that, the lip can still seem very mellow. But it can equally, give the look more spice.
A few neutral pieces:
– This dress is simple and clean, but also is on the shorter end, which makes it great for the super hot days. You can also throw on a top, or asimple one. This dress is great, andthis one too. This pencil skirt is perfect, and on sale too! – You can also pair these, for comfort and style. These are a classic. – A great pair of sunnies that pop against your bright lips
Your smile is beautiful!
