To be honest, Im not sure how we would survive winter over here without art sessions. This week in particular, with a stomach bug rotating throughout the apartment, movies and art were about the only thing that kept River and myself sane. I can depend on art, that specific creative hour, or hours, to refocus and to help bring a bit of joy to a normal or boring day. Art has that way with anyone, and I’m happy be able to spend quality time with my daughter in this kind of way, any day, really.
Polarn O. Pyret asked me if I would help spread the word about their PO.P Art launch, a collection of silkscreened posters and four t-shirts, I of course said yes. I have been a shopper at Polarn O. Pyret for a while now, even before I got pregnant actually. Their shop in Tribeca was conveniently located near a few of my classes way back when.
The posters are fun and inspiring, and remind me of all the kiddo art galleries I’ve seen my friends have in their apartments.
To celebrate the launch, Polarn O. Pyret is having a Facebook giveaway and contest! All you have to do is enter in your child’s art work here, Or, you can post a photo on instagram and use the hashtag #popartkidsusa #popart. Truthfully, we never need a real reason to have an artfest over here, but the $200 shopping spree for each winner doesn’t make the art session a terrible thing by any means.
Good luck and happy weekend!
This post was in partnership with Polarn O. Pyret. All opinions are my own.
My 6 year old drew some pretty interesting poop characters. I'm off to enter.
