On The Go With Ergo| Coffee and The Subway

Our Saturdays, when Peter isn’t shooting, are some of the easiest days. We usually end up staying in bed well past 9 am, and we take quite a long time to get ourselves ready to adventure as a foursome. Some of our adventures only include hot chocolate and coffees, some include lunch and museums, and some include meeting friends and family for quick day dates. It’s always super low maintenance and supremly wonderful.

I’ve teamed up with Ergobaby, to document a few simple, yet special outings using our Ergo baby over the next few months. The thing is friends, I’ve always loved Ergobaby. I remember when we first had River and we were way too broke to purchase one outright. We already purchased so many other wraps and carriers, and I couldn’t justify it at that time.  I had searched all over Craigslist for one, and hardly ever saw one listed. Even the family Yahoo groups I was a part of hardly ever posted one. Many parents hold on to their Ergo with dear life. I don’t blame them. Their babies, like my babies, fit comfortably in them from the newborn stage, well into their toddler years. Eventually, we went and purchased a new one, and it was so worth it.

Does your kid insist on going by herself in that turnstile? Mine does. Every time. 😉
Sometimes mama gets a break from baby wearing and papa takes over. I find Peter hot on another level when I see him baby wearing. You’ve probably heard this enough from other moms. But it’s true. Irresistible.

I’m so happy that Ergo asked me to take part and document this time in our lives. We are approaching this new world of exploring in New York City with a toddler and a baby, with optimism and joy. Having our Ergo along just seems right. It’s functional, easy to style around, and most importantly, comfortable for both Oak and I.

I am wearing the Organic Dandelion Ergobaby Carrier.  Peter is wearing the B&me baby carrier coat, that looks fantastic on a woman or a man! Photography by my husband, Peter Staubs.

This post was in partnership with Ergobaby.A company that I wholeheartedly believe in.

hi! I have a little one due at the first of the year. I notice that you use the sollybaby wrap too.
Do you feel like each wrap/carrier has its own purpose and benefits. I know every family is different, but I am planning on gettin the sollybaby wrap because they look so comfy and aesthetically I like the look more. Would love your advice!
    thx ly

I love my ergo. We have travelled the world with ours. It was a life saver in airports, on planes & when exploring places a stroller cannot go. I swear last night my 3 year old asked to go in his ergo on my back because he was feel sick & wanted to stay close to me. I adore these photos of your family you all look amazing.

Hi! Thank you so much for this question, i get it a lot, and it's good to put it into public form. I do love the Sollybaby and the Ergo. We also have a few Sakura Blooms and love them as well. Each has their own purpose. We are constantly rotating over here. I loved the Sollybaby for the first few weeks and months. But I also love the ease of the Ergo while he's so much bigger. We used a wrap for a very long time with River because she was quite small. It all depends on your preference, but I suggest having a few different carriers.
