River’s Room Tour|

For the past year and a half we’ve lived here, I’ve been meaning to share River’s room with you guys. Her room was the first room to be all set up in our place, but of course it’s the last room I got around to showing. If you got a chance to take a look at our place on A Beautiful Mess, then you got a good view of her small, yet happy space. It’s funny, because now I think her room is ready for new pictures. We’ve changed a few major things; the carpet, bedding, and art to name a few.

I would like to think that River’s room is a reflection of her. It’s colorful and cheerful. We keep the mess contained with pretty baskets and a vintage night stand, but it’s her’s to tear apart to her liking. I love that she’s had a hand in decorating it herself. Whenever something gets moved or when we choose to add a picture etc. River always gets to choose. There was one point in our old apartment where I felt as though her room wasn’t easily accessible to her. She would always come to me so I could help her play, pull out, or make a mess. 😉 When creating this room together, I really wanted her to be able to do everything on her own and enjoy doing so. It’s been wonderful to see her play in the middle of the floor early in the morning without a care. Knowing that the room is functional, fun, and pretty, is a huge check off of my mommy decor list!

I love the baskets to hold toys and stuffed animals next to the bed. I arrange my boys favorite stuffed animals on his bed through out the day, but after the 100th time I kinda just gave up on it. By the way this is one of my favorite new blogs, I came upon it through a beautiful mess after I fell in love with your warm and inviting home.

Thank you Lidia for reading! And baskets are like man's gift to motherhood. Hide the toys and all the stuffies.
