Snippets Of Our Porch

The other day I was watching tv and I watched in horror as several back to school commercials popped up. I instantly became embarrassingly annoyed. This winter was hard and I am content in pretending this summer will last forever, wouldn’t that be grand? With all of that said, I remembered that I never got the chance to share our little porch with you all.

Our “porch” was an old drainage system that I’m sure was way more functional at one point years ago. Our building was built in the mid 1800s, so everything is a little wacky and awesome, if you ask me. The porch became my end of pregnancy project. Since I really didn’t have a nursery to focus on, the porch became my focus, and honestly was relatively easy. I decorated, planted, and enjoyed it all within a day. I had hoped to add more and do more, but it was pushed to the bottom of the list and we have been enjoying it as is.

The porch has become a place of our daily morning coffees, just the four of us, the sun, and the Brooklyn birds. It’s funny how quiet this city is first thing in the morning. We love how this little space has become a home, our home. I’m not sure if I will ever get back to decorating our little space back there, but for the time being it’s been wonderful, especially now with having two kids. I’m looking forward to a few more barbecues and chalk filled mornings.

If you’d like, you can see more of our place here and here.
