Last week my closest family and friends joined me for a wonderful, laughter-filled, and peaceful brunch, celebrating baby boy and I. Having a little celebration with those who have been there through all the ups and downs for me personally and for my family, was something that was so close to my heart. I wanted to celebrate, but I didn’t want to be overwhelmed with the thought of those planning or even the celebration itself. The day, oh the day, was just wonderful! Really, I struggle to find the right words to describe it. We spent the morning eating delicious food at my favorite brunch place in New York City, Juliette.
When I decided that I did in fact want to celebrate our new bundle (every baby should be celebrated), a garden theme immediately came to mind. After a hellish winter, we were just feeling all the love from Spring and knew that a garden theme was the best way to celebrate this new season, this new baby. I asked my talented friend Emily to illustrate an invite for the shower and she illustrated this wonderful custom flower crown. My sister Brittany ordered my favorite cupcakes, Belle made the gorgeous flower crowns, a few flower centerpieces, and shot and edited these amazing photos. Lastly, my best friend Christina made the potted flower favors.
Upon entering my shower I immediately cried out of pure joy. My oldest and dearest friends, my mother and my sister all just stood there, all looking beautiful, there to celebrate the baby and I. I felt so loved. I still feel so loved.
We laughed ridiculously loud and we talked even deeper than what I would of thought. It all came full circle. Friends, long lasting friends, family, life… I could relive that morning a thousand times. Those women who came are my sisters for a lifetime.

What a beautiful shower! I am far from having children, but you have inspired me to request a garden theme for my future baby showers.
