How does one survive pregnancy without spandex?

….You can’t.
Trying to survive a pregnancy without spandex is somewhat impossible. I haven’t went all out and bought maternity clothing just yet, but this isn’t my first time at the pregnancy rodeo. 🙂 My project lately is working in what I have, purchasing pieces that can be worn now and later. For winter so far, high waisted stretchy skirts are doing the trick. They are super comfortable, and I know they’ll regain their shape post-pregnancy.

Pairing any skirt with a thick pair of tights is a given, but the key is to have the tights low enough so they don’t irritate your stomach. Right now I am 4 1/2 months pregnant, and the baby is quite low, which is normal in the second trimester. And anything that lays where the baby is laying is uncomfortable. So tights that can sit low is a must. For safe measure, I always put on a pair of biker shorts over my tights (which also sit low) to make sure they don’t slip down.

Do you have any pregnancy style tips?

I'm 30 weeks, with a petite frame. I've never had much luck with maternity clothes in general, so I spend a lot of time looking for empire waisted dresses and shirts. I like to keep things as loose as possible around my hips and belly, so anything that breathes and flows is what I find myself living in these days. Congratulations! You look radiant!

Sarah, why thanks! I neglect it a lot, but when there's a good day I'm learning to snap photos of it.

    Lynzie congrats!
I was smaller in my first pregnancy, and the "boho" style worked much more. Know, with a more curvy figure, things that hug and stretch have to be mine, or else I just look big.

O I so agree about spandex! I'm six months along with my third at the moment and have been on a quest for stretchy skirts and the high waisted ones are so much more comfortable! I've had limited luck but I'm so grateful for the ones I have found!
