Finally, I can rest easy, the new blog is up! Not without its fair share of kinks though. If you try and scroll through my feed, you’ll find that a lot of my pictures are chopped. Apparently, I never got the memo about actually cropping your photo to your blogs template size, and just uploaded them as is. My blog never complained. 😉 Well, while I am working on that little obstacle behind the scenes, I wanted to introduce some fun changes.
Here we go.
The more I would post, the more I would yearn to pull River out of this blog just a bit more, and bring my style up just a bit more. Motherhood is such a huge portion of my life, but I rather tell my story as a mother, than her story as a child. Does that make sense? If she chooses to share her story one day, well.. it’s her story to share. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of my trials and triumphs will still be discussed- because this place is a place of healing for me, just in a different aspect.
Being a stylist, and having my own personal style has been my comfort zone, as silly as it may sound. Having confidence in my position in life, and where I wanted to be, and who I am, has brought me out of some pretty heavy moments. And given my long history of styling, and my tales and tricks, I thought it would be great to share on this platform as well.
You’ll notice that I no longer have a sidebar, and that’s because this blog no longer accepts sidebar sponsors. I really enjoyed making connections, and helping other mamas and shop owners grow their blogs and businesses, but it wasn’t right for me or for this blog anymore. I’m all about the gut feelings, and it wasn’t in my gut anymore. I still will be working with and collaborating with brands and shops that I feel represent myself, my family, and this blog.
In the top links you will see press, shop, about, and contact tabs..they are all pretty easy to access, and are self explanatory. I am currently working on a F.A.Q that I will add to the “about” pretty soon, so ask away. 😉 The most exciting tab above is the “shop welkin” tab, it’s almost that time! The sidebar has a few tabs too, there you can follow me by email, through bloglovin, on Instagram, Pinterest, and like me on Facebook.
Finally, this blog is officially, latonyayvette.com. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy reading along.
I religiously followed your blog ever since I coincidentally found it through Belle and her blog (I actually read all of it, from day one, but … you know, not in a weird, stalker way … :D) and I never commented before, but this time I have to tell you that I really like the new layout and your writing, and your daughter is a real sweetie ! thank you for sharing it all with us !
