I talked about my hair briefly here, but not much since. From what I hear I am supposed to wash my natural hair once a week and co-wash it like three times a week. I try, but I usually fail at all of the above. I spend most night tidying, packing, and preparing for the next day. And then blog after that. My bed and I start our ridiculously long date soon after. 😉 But, when I do find the time to stick to my very simple hair regimen I feel great about it.
I use only a few products for my hair (my favorites; this conditioner works wonders and this stuff smells so good). I love to know that what I put into my body, and put on my body is organic, healthy, and good for me and the environment.
Twisting my hair at night takes a bit of time to tell the truth. I do it early enough for it to dry some at night and some in the morning.
Here is what I do:
1.Wash and condition my hair. I let my conditioner stay in for a bit before rinsing it lightly out with warm water.
2. Part my hair into four equal sections. Then each section from there I break up into little twists.
3. I use a two strand twist. The smaller the better.
4. I leave the twists in over night and sometimes allow them to stay in an entire day after.
Enjoy your holiday!
You're supposed to wash hair three times a week? :O That seems like so much! lol My hair can go a while without being washed. I co-wash once a week (or every couple weeks. Like you, I fail at keeping up with it.). & I MIGHT wash with shampoo once a month. I only like to use shampoo after my hair has been up in braids for weeks. I've become obsessed with Shea Moisture products.
By the way, I love your hair.
Tiffany,
I'm not sure! This true naturalista told me that and I was like hugh?! Who has time for that!
Thank you! I did try shea moisture and it didn't work for me.

I'm so glad you did a natural hair post! I have always admired your hair. I was wondering, do you color your hair or it the light brown I sometimes see your natural color?
I don't have time to wash three days a week (some rules/routines some people have are a little TOO much for me), but I do wash weekly and with a mild shampoo.
